    Virginia Environmental Laws

    The State Water Control Board has the authority to regulate groundwater withdrawals in the Commonwealth. Senate Bill 1221 (2003) authorized the
    SWC to undertake a water supply planning program. Private water well of the Virginia Code. Drinking water standards (see EPA Website below) are
    enforced by the VDH.
